Our Story

I wanted a pudding, not a protein product.

I love desserts, and I love fitness. Two things that normally don't go hand in hand. Everything on the market seems to fit one of two categories: actually healthy — and tastes like it, which isn't ideal for actual enjoyment. Or tastes like dessert — because it is dessert, unhealthy food masquerading as something for the fitness community. I figured there had to be a better way, some way to actually have the best of both worlds. As an engineer with a chemistry minor, experimentation and scientific rigor are in my nature. Given a slow period at work and a little extra time on my hands, I figured I'd give creating a delicious healthy dessert a real shot.

My kitchen turned into a full-on laboratory: beakers, bags of ingredients, scales, and weigh boats (I'm sure my roommates were thrilled). Pudding felt like a good starting point since it's first of all delicious, but is also basically just an extremely, extraordinarily good protein shake. The first few goes were horrible. I mean basically inedible. But just close enough to something that it kept me going. Alteration after alteration, ingredient change after ingredient change. And every time, a little better. Finally, around iteration 30, it started to seem like a real pudding. Then came iteration 43. Iteration 43 was perfect: creamy, delicious, smooth, and it hit my goals of high protein and high fiber.

Admitting my bias — I wanted it to be good — I knew I needed other people to try it. Everyone I handed a sample to said "no notes." Only 43 easy iterations (hah). The other comment I got consistently was "you have to try selling this, it's amazing." So I decided what the heck, and here we are: trying to build a healthy pudding brand around a full-time job, training for a half Ironman, having a social life, and spending as much time as I can with my best friend and dog, Dallas.

Please, give it a try — and be as blown away as my friends and I were that you can truly have it all: an amazing-tasting, fitness-focused, quick-prep dessert.
